Jackie Shroff and Madhuri Dixit’s 1991 thriller '100 Days' continues to be celebrated as one of Bollywood’s most iconic horror films. Now, the suspense classic is being adapted into a web series by its original producer, Jay Mehta.

'100 days' is being adapted into a web series

According to an India Today report, the series will feature Abhishek Kumaarr and Srishti Singh in the lead roles. The shoot is reportedly almost complete. Reports say that the show is expected to launch by the end of the year.

The series will be reportedly streamed as a vertical micro-drama, keeping pace with contemporary viewing habits and audience preferences. According to the reports, the makers have decided to make alterations to the storyline and how it is presented to keep up with today’s time and the evolved audience, .

The makers have reportedly added elements so that today’s generation can relate yet experience something new.'100 Days' revolves around the eerie and mysterious experiences of a woman with extrasensory perception. Madhuri Dixit played the role of Devi in the thriller drama along with Jaaved Jaaferi and Jackie Shroff who stepped into the roles of Sunil and Ram Kumar respectively.

Remembering director Partho Ghosh

The original film’s director, Partho Ghosh, passed away in June 2025 at the age of 75 following a heart attack. Ghosh began his career as an assistant director in 1985 and gradually made his mark in Bollywood. He was focused particularly in the thriller and drama genres. He earned recognition with 100 Days in 1991. Later he directed hits like 'Geet' (1992) and 'Dalaal' (1993).
