The Madhya Pradesh Police have apprehended three men in connection with the brutal assault on two men in Sehore district’s Dugliwali village, an officer said on Wednesday (June 25, 2025).
The police had filed an FIR on Tuesday (June 24) after a purported video of the incident — two men, sitting on mud and tied up, being thrashed by a mob and forced to consume animal dung — had gone viral.
Doraha police station in-charge Rajesh Sinha told The Hindu that the accused were identified based on the statements of the two victims — Shauqat Mehboob and Arif Ali, residents of neighbouring Raisen district.
The accused have been identified as Raja Khan, Chanda Khan and Ashraf Khan, all residents of the same village.
The accused will be produced before a court shortly, he added.
Mr. Sinha said that Mr. Mehboob was in a relationship with a woman from Dugliwali village and had come to meet her when some of her family members caught hold of him and his friend, leading to the assault.
