Man hacks wife to death over suspicion of extramarital affair in Ramanagara

A 45-year-old woman was hacked to death allegedly by her husband over suspicion of an extramarital affair, in Dasarahalli village of Ramanagara taluk on Sunday.

The victim has been identified as Nagamma, 45, a resident of Dasarahalli. According to the police, her husband, Kanimadayya, suspected that she was involved in an illicit relationship with a man from the same village.

The couple reportedly had frequent quarrels over the issue. On Sunday morning, an argument broke out between them and escalated, following which Kanimadayya allegedly attacked Nagamma with a machete.

Nagamma sustained severe injuries and died on the spot due to excessive bleeding.

Upon receiving information, the police personnel from the Ramanagara Rural Police Station rushed to the spot, conducted an inspection, and registered a case. The accused has been arrested and further investigation is under way.

The victim’s body has been shifted for post-mortem examination.
