Chatra: A man was killed within 12 hours of allegedly killing his brother over a dispute over crop harvesting in the district on Sunday. The incident occurred in Chani village under Lawalong police station limits, the police said on Monday.
Police said the accused Jagdish Bhuiyan (38) attacked his younger brother Santosh with a cane. The attack came amid a heated verbal exchange between the two over harvesting crops. Santosh allegedly died on the spot. Jagdish then fled the scene.After registering a case, police formed a team under Simaria sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) Shubham Khandelwal to nab the culprit. The accused was arrested on Monday. Police have also recovered the stick used in the attack. Prashant Kumar Mishra, the officer in-charge of Lawalong police station, said, “The accused has been placed in judicial custody.”
