With the win, City became the first English top-flight side to score 10 goals in a match since 1986 after Liverpool’s 10-0 win over Fulham 10-0 in the League Cup and the first in the FA Cup since Tottenham’s 13-2 win over Crewe in 1960.

Chelsea secured a dominant 5-1 victory over Charlton Athletic on Sunday in their FA Cup third-round clash as Jorrel Hato, Tosun Adarabioyo, Marc Guiu, Pedro Neto, and Enzo Fernandez all contributed to Chelsea’s emphatic win, which marked the arrival of Liam Rosenior to the club.
Earlier in the day, FA Cup holders Crystal Palace were eliminated by sixth-tier Macclesfield on Sunday in their third-round match at The Leasing.com Stadium as goals from Paul Dawson and Isaac Buckley-Ricketts secured a 2-1 victory for Macclesfield, with Yeremi Pino scoring the only goal for Palace.
Dawson gave the Silkmen the lead two minutes before half-time, allowing the hosts to head into the break with a slight advantage.
Buckley-Ricketts doubled Macclesfield’s lead at the hour mark. Pino then pulled one back for Oliver Glasner’s side, who had won the title in the previous edition with a victory over Manchester City, but it was merely a consolation as the underdogs celebrated a famous win.
