A massive fire broke out in a village in Andhra Pradesh’s Kakinada district on Monday, gutting at least 32 houses and leaving dozens of families homeless, officials said.

The fire erupted in the early hours at Sarlanka village in Routhulapudi mandal, which falls under the Prathipadu Assembly constituency. Preliminary information suggests the blaze was triggered by a gas leak and spread rapidly through the locality.
