Massive fire ravages luxury cottages near Goa's Ajoba Temple, losses in crores

A massive fire ripped through luxury cottages near Ajoba Temple in North Goa on Thursday, leaving behind extensive damage estimated to run into crores and raising questions over emergency response timing in the coastal belt.

The incident took place in the Ashwem-Mandrem area of Goa, where a cluster of high-end cottages was engulfed in flames that quickly spread across the property.

According to visuals from the site, flames were seen rising high into the sky as the fire intensified, making it difficult to contain the blaze once it took hold.

Locals rushed to the spot and attempted to bring the situation under control. However, the fire reportedly spread too quickly for initial efforts to make a significant impact.

Concerns were also raised by residents over delays in the arrival of fire services, with early response efforts largely led by people in the vicinity.

The fire caused heavy destruction to the luxury cottages, with losses believed to be in crores of rupees. The scale of the damage has yet to be fully assessed, but much of the property was engulfed before the flames could be contained.
