Kireedam, considered among the most pivotal films of Mohanlal's career, is all set for a re-release in a restored format by Hyzin Global Ventures. The restoration work on the film was done by NFDC-NFAI and it premiered in 4K format with Dolby Atmos sound at IFFI last year.

Speaking to us, Prakash Magdum, MD of National Film Development Corporation (NFDC), shared, "The film is a classic from the Malayalam industry and a highlight of Mohanlal's career. Apart from Kerala and other Indian states, it will be re-released worldwide in July." The distributors are awaiting the censor certificate and will finalise the release date after getting it.The 1989 film by Sibi Malayil, also remade as Gardish in Hindi, revolves around Sethumadhavan (Mohanlal) and how his hopes and aspirations are shattered by a combination of fate and circumstances. Mohanlal won one of his six National Awards for this film. After the IFFI premiere in November 2025, Mohanlal had appreciated the restoration efforts by NFDC–NFAI "from a 35mm release print, thankfully preserved by the archive for several decades after the original camera negative had decomposed.
