Muskaan Kataria and Simran Tomar
Last seen in Pyaar Ki Raahein, Muskaan Kataria is all set to return to television after a two-year hiatus with the popular show Mann Sundar. She steps into the role of Juhi, which was earlier portrayed by actress Simran Tomar, who exited the show midway due to personal reasons.
Muskaan shares, “After playing back-to-back negative roles, I felt it was time to bring out my positive side. I was in Australia for a family get-together when I received the offer. I found the role exciting and said yes instantly. The moment I got to know I was finalised for Juhi, I didn’t think twice — I immediately flew back to India to begin work.” The actress, who has also appeared in shows like Yeh Hai Chahatein, says she’s excited to take on a character that’s in stark contrast to her previous roles.
“This role is very different from what I’ve done before. In my last two shows, I played strong negative leads, which gave me the chance to explore intense and darker emotions. Juhi, on the other hand, is warm, positive, and emotionally grounded. She’s someone viewers can easily connect with.
For me as an actor, it’s refreshing because I get to explore a softer, more optimistic side on screen. It feels like a welcome change — not just for me, but also for my fans, who will get to see a completely new shade of my personality.”
She adds, “I think audiences today are smart and sensitive to nuanced performances. So even if the character has already been introduced, there’s always room for a new interpretation. That excites me as an artist.” Muskaan also aims to bring her own unique touch to the role. She says, “I believe every actor brings their own individuality to a role. Simran did a wonderful job as Juhi, and I truly respect the way she portrayed the character. At the same time, I will be adding my own understanding and emotional layers to Juhi. The idea is not to replace what’s already been done, but to take the essence of the character forward while allowing my own personality to shine through.
