Na Sang Hyun Band changes their statement over alleged sexual assault: Issue notice about taking legal action against misinformation - Report

Na Sang Hyun Band has recently issued a statement via their management agency that they will be filing complaints and pursuing legal action against misinformation spreaders. They have issued a statement in relation to people who have been posting malicious content about the lead singer, concerning a previous sexual assault allegation.Read on to find out what happened.

Na Sang Hyun Band issues a statement about legal action after sexual assault allegations

According to reports from OSEN, the band’s management agency issued a prompt statement about how they will be pursuing legal action against all those who have been posting malicious content, as well as false allegations against the lead singer, Na Sang Hyun, online. The statement read that, "We have completed filing complaints and charges related to violations of the Information and Communications Network Act (defamation), obstruction of business, insults, and spreading false information concerning Na Sang-hyun Band”.They also added on, saying that they are in the process of monitoring individuals and collecting evidence of all of the false claims that have been made against Sang Hyun online on different social media platforms. "The specific situations of Na Sang-hyun Band members raised by some online users are nonexistent false facts, and therefore, it cannot be established that there are victims based on those situations," they shared.

Not only that, but they also issued an apology as well, citing that their initial reaction and statement to the alleged allegations online was not properly done and was “inadequate” in nature.

What had happened?

Earlier this year, allegations of sexual assault were shared online against the lead member of the band, Na Sang Hyun. The post made claims that the idol had touched the victim's thigh, had pretended to be drunk, and had apologised for the same. When the allegations first came to light, the singer had issued an apology on social media, admitting to the allegations. His apology had read, “I am sorry for hurting the person in a situation where I cannot remember the specific circumstances due to drinking. I know it’s late, but I would like to apologize now personally. If it is ok, please send me a private message. Please refrain from causing secondary harm to the person”.However, now the stance against the allegations has completely changed and the singer as well as the band have denied all alleged accusations.
