Anantjeet Singh Naruka and Darshna Rathore won Senior Skeet Mixed Team gold for Rajasthan at the 68th National Shooting Championship, while Telangana triumphed in the junior event.

At the 68th National Shooting Championship Competitions (Shotgun) on Wednesday, Asian Champion shooters Anantjeet Singh Naruka and Darshna Rathore displayed consistent performance to claim the Senior Skeet Mixed Team gold medal.
Representing Rajasthan, the duo triumphed over the Uttar Pradesh team of Mairaj Ahmad Khan and Areeba Khan with a score of 45-43 in a closely fought gold medal match at the Dr Karni Singh Shooting Range. Anantjeet hit 21 targets while Darshna contributed 24, edging out Mairaj with 21 and Areeba with 22 hits.
How Anantjeet Singh Naruka-Darshna Rathore Won Gold?
Earlier, Rajasthan led the qualification standings with 143 hits, with Anantjeet scoring 73 and Darshna adding 70, securing a direct entry into the gold medal match. Uttar Pradesh secured their final spot after defeating Haryana in a shootout during qualification. Mairaj scored 74 and Areeba 68, tying with Haryana at 142 before winning the shootout 4-3.
Haryana’s team, comprising Raiza Dhillon with 72 hits and Ishaan Singh Libra with 70 hits, secured the bronze medal by defeating Madhya Pradesh 41-39 in the third-place match. The Madhya Pradesh team of Rituraj Bundela (20 hits) and Mansi Raghuwanshi (19 hits) finished fourth.
In the Junior Skeet Mixed Team event, Telangana’s Yuvek Battula and Lakku Venkat Lakshmi each contributed 19 hits to win the title. Despite a strong performance from Madhya Pradesh’s Jyotiraditya Sisodiya (17 hits) and Vanshika Tiwari (20 hits), they finished one point short in a closely contested final.
The junior bronze medal was claimed by Punjab, with Harmehar Singh Lally and Parmeet Kaur securing third place with 40 hits. The Rajasthan team of Yashasvi Rathore and Yashwardhan S Rajawat finished fourth with 39 hits.
In the junior qualification, Telangana topped the standings with 141 targets, with Yuvek scoring 73 and Venkat Lakshmi 66, securing their spot in the gold medal match. Madhya Pradesh followed with 140 hits from Vanshika (71) and Jyotiraditya (69). Punjab finished third with 136 hits from Harmehar (73) and Parmeet Kaur (63), while Rajasthan finished fourth with 133 hits from Yashasvi (70) and Yashwardhan (63).
The 10m Air Pistol Women’s finals is scheduled for Thursday.
