Actor Ravi Teja and producer Naga Vamsi believe Malayalam film 'Lokah' wouldn't have succeeded in Telugu, citing evolving audience tastes. Vamsi noted Telugu viewers are now unpredictable, pointing to 'Little Hearts' surprising success. Teja concurred, stating 'Lokah' would have been rejected by local audiences. Their film 'Mass Jathara' is an upcoming action entertainer.

Actor Ravi Teja and producer Naga Vamsi recently shared their thoughts on how audiences perceive regional cinema while promoting their upcoming film 'Mass Jathara'. During a promotional interview, the duo discussed the success of the Malayalam superhero film 'Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra', starring Kalyani Priyadarshan and Naslen, and claimed that the film wouldn't have found the same success if it had been made as a straight Telugu project.

Naga Vamsi on Telugu audiences changing taste

After Naga Vamsi mentioned that if the films was a Telugu project the audience would have complained and picked it apart. He also mentioned that the viewers would have called it, that it lacks a certain quality or something else. He went on to say, "I would have changed my name if that hadn't happened."The producer added that the Telugu crowd has become "hard to read." He also gave an example of a small-budget Malayalam film, 'Little Hearts' that performed unexpectedly well in the Telugu states.

"The Telugu audience has become such that we're on the edge. Look at Little Hearts, nobody knows the actors and crew. But the premieres had good bookings. Nobody can predict what they want to watch now," he explained.

Ravi Teja supports Vamsi's view

Backing Naga Vamsi’s statement, Ravi Teja agreed that 'Lokah' would not have received the same appreciation if it were made in Telugu. The Mass Maharaja said, "Nobody would've watched it, he’s 100% correct.

We don’t know what would click."'Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra' turned out to be a record-breaking Malayalam hit, becoming the first film from the industry to cross the Rs 300 crore mark globally.

Speaking of the upcoming film 'Mass Jathara' starring Ravi Teja, it is an action entertainer directed by Bhanu Bhogavarapu.
