Bharatiya Janata Party MLA N. Eswara Rao on Monday (january 11, 2026) said that Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) agreed to set up a skill development centre with state of art facilities to train the youngsters to get jobs quickly in various industries, software companies, at the fishing harbour — which is to be constructed at Budagatlapalem of Srikakulam district — and the international airport being constructed at nearby town of Bhogapuram of Vizianagaram district.

Speaking to The Hindu here, he said that hundreds of youngsters would get job opportunities very soon with the construction of airport at Bhogapuram which is very close to Pydibhimavaram-Ranasthalam industrial corridor of Etcherla constituency.

“NPCIL officials have recently discussed the establishment of skill development centres near Arjunnavalasa as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility activities. It is going to be a big boon for youngsters who needed to upgrade their skills to meet the expectations of the companies. At least 1000 persons will be trained in a year as per the tentative schedule,” said Mr. Rao.

According to him, NPCIL will construct a township for its own staff in Etcherla constituency as the company planned to develop nuclear power project at Kovvada of Ranasthalam mandal of Srikakulam district. A rehabilitation colony with ₹700 crore will also be constructed in Dharmavaram village for the villagers who had surrendered their land for the nuclear project.
