The Nair Service Society (NSS) on Monday (January 5, 2025) dismissed the allegations raised by the West Bengal Governor C.V. Ananda Bose that he was denied permission to offer floral tributes at Mannam Samadhi, the tomb of Mannathu Padmanabhan, founder of the NSS.
Speaking to the media, NSS general secretary G. Sukumaran Nair categorically rejected any such incident and accused Mr. Bose of indulging in stunts aimed at creating unnecessary controversy among the public. He said that Mr. Bose had visited Perunna earlier and had offered floral tributes at the Samadhi on that occasion.
Mr. Bose had made the allegation while addressing a Mannam Jayanti event in New Delhi, claiming that he was denied permission to offer floral tributes at the Mannam Samadhi. His remarks sparked a major controversy.
