One killed, two others injured after SUV knocks them down near Ulsoor in Bengaluru; three other died in separate road accidents

A pedestrian was killed and two others were severely injured when a speeding SUV knocked them down near Ulsoor on Thursday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Rosey, 51. She was working in the housekeeping department of a private firm.

On Thursday evening, she was walking with her relative Mithun, 10. Shailaja, 62, unrelated to them, was also walking next to them on Dodda Kattappa Road, Ulsoor, when a speeding SUV knocked them down. The driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene.

Rosey died en route to the hospital, and the other two were being treated. The Ulsoor traffic police have launched a search for the driver.

In another case, a security guard riding a bicycle was mowed down by a speeding SUV near Bellandur Lake on Thursday night. The deceased has been identified as Sumit Kumar, 28, hailing from Bihar. The HAL traffic police have launched a probe.

In another accident, Insa Tripura, 24, working at a hotel in Amruthahalli, died after he lost control of the two-wheeler he was riding and thrown off the vehicle. He was killed on the spot.

In yet another case, in a head-on collision between a scooter and a sports bike in Chikkabanavara, the scooter rider Basheer Khan, 26, hailing from Chattisgarh, died. Aditya and Ashwini Acharya, riding pillion on the sports bike, were severely injured.
