Hyderabad parliamentarian Asaduddin Owaisi on Wednesday criticised a social media post from the @BJP4Assam X handle and accused Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of harbouring the aim of a Muslim-free India.

Taking to X, and quoting the artificial intelligence-generated content from the handle, Mr. Owaisi said, “BJP Assam has posted a disgusting AI video that shows a Muslim-majority Assam if there was no BJP. They are not fear-mongering just for votes, this is the repulsive Hindutva ideology in true form.”

He recollected that the Patna High Court had directed the removal of an AI video showing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his mother as defamatory. “For everyone, their mother has the highest regard. The same principle must be followed for Assam BJP’s disgusting video as well. It’s not only defamatory, but genocidal, to depict Muslim citizens as a danger, as a group that needs to be oppressed constantly,” he stated.

Speaking to The Hindu, Mr. Owaisi described the posting of such content as ‘deliberate’. He said that the BJP’s taking to social media with objectionable content about Muslims in Assam was not an isolated case. “This is deliberate. They did this everywhere. If you remember, they did this in Karnataka as well before the elections. It could lead to violence against Muslims,” he said.

Mr. Owaisi, who is the All India Majlis-e-Ittetehadul Muslimeen president, underscored that this, and the recent incident in which cases were slapped against Muslims in Bihar over a sign that declared reverence for Prophet Muhammad. “If somebody carries a poster that says “I Love Muhammad” police stops this and says this is a new practice. He is our Prophet, and we believe in him. All these are deliberate attempts to make Muslims realise that they are second class citizens of this country. How is this sabka saath sabka vikas?” Mr. Owaisi said.
