Parvez Ansari, Brother Of Lady Doctor Involved In Faridabad Terror Module, Arrested

Dr Parvez Ansari is the brother of Dr Shaheen Saeed, whose role has emerged as critical in facilitating the Faridabad terror module that is allegedly linked to the Delhi car blast.

Dr Parvez Ansari has been arrested in connection with the Delhi car blast.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) of Uttar Pradesh police arrested Dr Parvez Ansari, the brother of Dr Shaheen Saeed, a lady doctor from Uttar Pradesh, whose role has emerged as critical in financing and facilitating the deadly blast near Delhi’s Red Fort Metro Station.

The J&K Police and UP ATS conducted raids at different places in the state in connection with Monday’s car blast in Delhi. They raided Ansari’s residence in the Madiaon locality, where they recovered a laptop, a mobile phone and some documents kept in a black bag.

According to sources, Ansari had recently resigned from his position at the Integral University a week ago. He is the younger brother of Dr Shaheen Saeed.

Top intelligence sources earlier said that Shaheen was associated with Dr Umar, who studied at Al-Falah Medical College in Faridabad. Dr Umar is believed to have been driving the car that exploded in Delhi on Monday evening, leaving 12 dead.

Shaheen’s Role In Delhi Blast

Shaheen was also closely connected with Muzzamil — the key accused, from whose possession a large quantity of explosives was earlier seized in Faridabad, sources say. She is also reported to have been in a relationship with Muzzamil, linking her directly to the core group that is suspected to have planned the blast.

Officials have collected documents and questioned family members and neighbours to gather details about her background. Her father, Syed Ahmad Ansari, told reporters that he was “shocked to hear of her alleged involvement."

“I have three children. My eldest son is Mohammad Shoaib, who lives here with me. My daughter is Shaheen Saeed and my youngest son is Parvez Ansari. I last spoke to Shaheen about a month ago. I have never heard her mention Dr. Muzammil or anyone connected to such activities," he told news agency PTI.

Delhi Red Fort Blast

At 6:52 pm on Monday, a white Hyundai i20 car pulled up to a red light at Subhas Marg, a crowded part of old Delhi, and exploded within seconds, sending shockwaves across the country. The blast came hours after the Haryana Police on Monday morning, along with Jammu and Kashmir Police, busted a “white-collar" terror module and arrested Dr Adeel Ahmad Rather and Dr Muzammil Shakil, close aides of Dr Umar.

The police also seized 2,900 kg of explosives and weapons such as assault rifles and pistols. This seizure, according to the sources, triggered Dr Umar Mohammad – a close associate of Dr Adeel believed to be radicalised – to carry out a blast in the national capital.

Eight people, including Dr Muzammil and two fellow doctors, have been arrested for allegedly being part of a white-collar terror module involving the Jaish-e-Mohammed and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind, spanning across Kashmir, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh, officials said.
