While the other owners of the team were present at the launch, Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Mahomes’ absence has raised eyebrows and sparked panic.

However, neither the Kansas City Chiefs’ star player Patrick Mahomes nor his wife, Brittany Mahomes, has responded to the speculations yet.For the unversed, the Kansas City Current started working on the $52 million project in July 2025.As per reports, it includes the 2000 seat Riverside Stadium, a highly advanced and state of the art Performance Center, and a pitch expansion.The other owners of the Kansas City Current, Chris and Angie Long, were present at the launch as they said, "Raising the global standard in women's sports KC Current unveils a new performance center dedicated to the development of players & growing the game."

They added, "Investing in women's sports is not symbolic. It is strategic…It strengthens communities, inspires young people, and drives economic growth. Riverside Stadium & Performance Center is about leveling up the game again."However, neither of the two addressed the absence of Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany Mahomes, from the grand launch.
