Actor and filmmaker Rajesh Madhavan is ready to bring his first directorial film, 'Pennum Porattum', to theatres. The film will hit the big screens on February 6. The makers have officially announced the release date by sharing a new poster.

Many people are curious because this is Rajesh Madhavan’s first film as a director. 'Pennum Porattum' means 'Girl and the Fools Parade'. The title itself feels playful and different. The film promises something fresh and new. It moves into a fantasy space while also talking about society in a simple and fun way.

A film filled with fresh faces

One of the biggest highlights of 'Pennum Porattum' is the large number of newcomers. The film features more than 100 new actors.

Over 400 birds and animals are also part of the film.A few well-known stars have given their voice to some characters. One of them is a young Malayalam superstar. The makers have not revealed the names yet. The story, screenplay, and dialogues are written by Ravishankar. He has earlier worked as a writing associate in popular films like Mammootty's 'Bheeshma Parvam' and Manju Warrier's 'Rani Padmini'.

Rooted story and festival love

The film took nearly one year to complete. A lot of time went into preparation and acting workshops.

Most of the characters speak in the Palakkad dialect. This gives the film a very natural and rooted feel. The cast mostly includes ordinary village people. Binu George Alexander and Sherin Rachel Santhosh are also producers. The film will be released through Moonshot Entertainment.Arun C. Thampi is the executive producer. Cinematography is handled by Sabin Uralikandi. Editing is done by Chaman Chacko. Music is composed by Dawn Vincent, with lyrics written by Vaishakh Sugunan.
