President  honours three state teachers for innovation

Patna: President Droupadi Murmu on Friday presented the National Teachers’ Award to three teachers from Bihar for their innovative and dedicated contributions to education. The awardees were Kumari Nidhi of Primary School Suhagi, Kishanganj; Pramod Kumar of Sainik School, Nalanda and Dilip Kumar of Lalit Narayan Laxmi Narayan Project Girls High School.

Each recipient was given a certificate, a silver medal and a cash prize of Rs 50,000.Kumari Nidhi, recognised for her initiatives under Mission NIPUN, said the honour was a major milestone. Hailing from a small village in Kishanganj, she said, “To reach here from such a small village is very big. It is an inspiration for my students and other girls like me from my village and district.” She also got the opportunity to interact with the Prime Minister.

Reflecting on the recognition, she added, “The responsibility has increased after receiving the award.

I have to work much better from now onwards.”Pramod Kumar said the award was a validation of his work in fostering leadership among cadets from diverse socio-economic backgrounds, promoting STEM education at the school level and leading initiatives as a National Education Policy ambassador to train teachers nationwide.

“After receiving the award, it feels that my work has actually been recognised at the national level. Now I have to work with new energy and a new approach on several points,” he said.Dilip Kumar described the day as personally significant. “I was awarded for my work in the field of innovation that helped my students reach the national level,” he said, adding that the award also acknowledged his broader efforts to advance his school.
