President to attend AIISH’s diamond jubilee celebrations in Mysuru on Sept. 1

President Droupadi Murmu will be arriving in Mysuru on September 1 to attend the diamond jubilee celebrations of the All India Institute of Speech and Hearing (AIISH).

Deputy Commissioner G. Lakshmikant Reddy, who held a meeting at the zilla panchayat premises in the city on Thursday to chalk out preparations for the President’s visit, instructed the officials to make all necessary arrangements. He called upon all officials to ensure that there are no lapses in the protocol.

President Murmu will be staying at Radisson Blu and the officials should ensure that proper arrangements are made in honour of the visiting dignitary, the Deputy Commissioner said.

While mentioning that there should be adequate police security, Mr. Reddy directed the officials to ensure that the roads on which the President is scheduled to travel are fully repaired. He entrusted the responsibility of maintaining the cleanliness and readiness of the roads on the route from Outer Ring Road and AIISH to Radisson Blu, to the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC), Mysuru Development Authority, and the National Highways Authority of India.

The officials from the Department of Health and Family Welfare will ensure medical facilities as per protocol, Mr. Reddy said. An ambulance with proper facilities, specialist doctors, and medical staff must be deployed, he added.

City Police Commissioner Seema Latkar, Mysuru Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer S. Yukesh Kumar, MCC Commissioner Sheikh Tanveer Asif, and other senior officials of the district administration were present at the meeting.
