Following the 2017 actress assault case verdict, actor Prithviraj Sukumaran and producer Supriya Menon publicly backed the survivor. Manju Warrier voiced her support, stating justice remains incomplete as the alleged mastermind walks free. She emphasized that true justice requires punishing all involved, advocating for the safety and dignity of all women.
Actor Prithviraj Sukumaran came forward to support the survivor soon after the trial court verdict on the 2017 actress assault case. The 'Vilayath Buddha' actor shared the survivor post on social media.
Supriya Menon stands beside the survivor
Producer Supriya Menon also shared the same post. She added a short message saying “Always with her”.In her post, which was shared on the last day, the survivor thanked those who stood by her. She said the verdict showed the painful truth that not everyone is equal before the law. She wrote that her fundamental rights were not protected. The survivor also said the decision did not surprise her. Calling it the end of a deeply painful journey she said she could see a faint glimmer of light ahead.
She dedicated the verdict to those who mocked her pain called her suffering lies and branded the case as fake.
Manju Warrier raises her voice
Actor Manju Warrier soon shared her own note in support of the survivor. She wrote “I have utmost respect for the Honorable Court. But in this case, justice for the survivor is still incomplete.” She said only those who directly committed the crime have been punished. Manju added that the person who planned and enabled the crime is still free.
A call for true justice
Manju Warrier further wrote “The mind that planned and enabled this heinous act, whoever that is, still walks free, and that is terrifying.” She said justice will be complete only when everyone involved is punished. She added that this fight is not only for one survivor. She wrote “This is not just for one survivor. This is for every girl, every woman, every human being who deserves to walk with courage, heads held high, without fear.
” She ended with “With her. Then, now, and always.”
