Uttarandhra Ambedkarites Association president Pandranki Venkata Ramana on Sunday asked the government to conduct a high-level inquiry into the collapse of an auditorium and the poor maintenance of hostels and college buildings at JNTU-Gurajada, Vizianagaram.

According to a press release, he submitted a detailed memorandum to the Joint Collector Sedhu Madhavan over the alleged corruption which led to the construction of all the structures using inferior quality material.

Mr. Venkata Ramana said that hundreds of students were facing difficulties due to poor maintenance and the lack of basic facilities in the hostel buildings. “The government should take action against both the officials of the university as well as the contractors responsible for the construction of the structures with poor design and low quality material. The collapse of structures would put the lives of the students in danger,” Mr. Venkata Ramana added.
