Rama Ekadashi 2025: Significance
Ekadashi is considered as an extremely sacred day, when Lord Vishnu is worshipped with utmost devotion and purity.
There are 24 Ekadashi observances in a year that falls during Krishna paksha and Shukla paksha. As we know that Kartik month is considered the most pious and holiest month in which Lord Krishna and Lord Vishnu is worshipped with purity and devotion. This whole Kartik month is purely dedicated to Lord Vishnu and devotees who observe fast on this day get relieved from all types of sins and sufferings.
Rama Ekadashi falls in the same month and it is also holds a special place and this Ekadashi is also known as Rambha Ekadashi and Kartik Krishna.
As per Tamil Calendar, Rama Ekadashi occurs in the month of Puatssi and this Ekadashi falls in the month of Ashwina or Ashwayuja in Karnataka, Gujrat, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh. On this holy day, devotees offer prayers to Lord Vishhnu with utmost devotion and dedication and observe strict fast starts from Ekadashi Tithi and ends on Dwadashi Tithi. It is believed that by observing this Ekadashi, devotees get relieved from all types of sufferings and past sins which they might have committed knowingly or unknowingly.
This fast is extremely powerful that it is equivalent to thousands of Ashwamedha yagya and it can also remove the sin of Brahma hatya. People are advised to perform deep daan on this day in any Vishnu temple to receive immense blessings.
Rama Ekadashi 2025: Puja Rituals
1. Wake up early in the morning and take holy bath.2. Clean the house and especially puja room.3. Take an idol of Lord Vishnu, Lord Krishna and Laddoo Gopal Ji and give a holy bath to these idols with panchamrit.4. Place it on a wooden plank, Light a diya with desi ghee and offer garland, flowers, home made sweets, panchamrit and tulsi patra.5. Spend whole day chanting "Hare Krishna Maha Mantra" and chant "Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaye."6. In the evening, again worship Lord Vishnu by lighting diya and recite Vishnu Sahasranaam and Shri Hari Stotram.7. Break your with fruits and milk products.8. Devotees can break their fast on Dwadashi Tithi during Parana Time.
