Randhir Verma Death Anniversary: Musical Tribute to Martyr IPS Officer in Dhanbad

Dhanbad: A solemn yet spiritually uplifting musical tribute will be paid to martyr IPS officer Randhir Verma on his 35th death anniversary on January 3 at Randhir Verma Chowk in Dhanbad.

The commemorative programme will honour the supreme sacrifice of the brave officer, who laid down his life while fighting Khalistani terrorists in 1991.The highlight of the tribute ceremony will be a special musical presentation by renowned Sufi singer and Padma Shri awardee Bharti Bandhu, whose powerful and distinctive vocal renditions are known to deeply move audiences.IPS officer Randhir Verma was martyred while confronting terrorists who carried out a bank robbery at the Bank of India branch in Hirapur, Dhanbad. He killed two terrorists with his service pistol before he attained martyrdom.
