The Ranji Trophy cricket match between Karnataka and Goa teams, which began at KSCA Stadium in Shivamogga on Saturday (October 25, 2025), has been attracting a significant number of cricket lovers.
The parking yard at the stadium was packed on Sunday (OCtober 26, 2025), and many people, particularly young cricket players, from different parts of the district, watched the play. With limited seating in the galleries, the KSCA officials restricted the entry for the pass holders.
A majority of the cricket lovers spread out on the grass. They cheered passionately whenever the batsmen, representing Karnataka, hit a boundary. While the organisers have put up pandals to provide shade for the audience, a few were also spotted seated on a pedestal attached to the scoreboard.

Many young cricketers were seen waving from the gallery at the cricketers practising on the field ahead of the match. They were thrilled when Arjun Tendulkar of the Goa team, Karnataka captain Mayank Agarwal, Karun Nair, and Shreyas Gopal responded to them. The officers have taken enough care to prevent the enthusiastic crowd from coming into contact with the cricketers.

Interestingly, young cricketers were upset when V. Koushik of Goa sent Karnataka batsman Abhinav Manohar off to the pavilion by taking the perfect catch on the boundary line on the first day. They passed comments questioning the fielder, while a few also suggested he join the RCB next time.

The office-bearers of Shivamogga Zone of KSCA had appealed to the public and the schools to make use of the opportunity to visit the KSCA grounds and watch the game. Shivamogga city is hosting a Ranji Trophy match after a gap of five years. The last match, between Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh, was held in January 2020.
