Chapter 1' mints over USD 50,000 in USA premiere shows without even a teaser released

Rishabh Shetty's Kantara sequel, Kantara: Chapter 1, is generating buzz. Advance ticket sales have commenced in the USA. The film has already earned over USD 51,000. The movie is releasing in multiple languages. Action director Todor Lazarov dedicated himself to the project. The climax shoot took 28 days. The film will clash with Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumar.

In 2022 Rishabh Shetty put the Kannada industry into the heart of Indian Cinema with Kantara. The film proved that Yash and Prashanth Neel’s KGF, another film from the Kannada industry, was not a flash in the pan.

Kantara went on to make about Rs 310 crore in India. With the success of the first part, the demand for more of the same began and actor-director Rishabh Shetty took on the challenge and geared up to make the second part.

But this time he took the story behind, for the second part- he is making a prequel to the 2022 film’s success. The film has been titled as Kantara-Chapter 1. The film is slated to release on 2nd October. While the advance booking for the film is yet to open in India, the tickets have gone on sale in the United States of America.

And the film has taken a solid start without even the makers releasing any new marketing material. The film on its first day of advance booking has collected USD 51,685 from over 1700 locations. The film would be released in Kannada, Telugu and Hindi versions. Rishabh plays fierce naga sadhu in the film. Recently in an article with Cinema Express, the action director of the film Todor Lazarov opened up about his experience of working on the film.

He stated that when he met Rishabh and he discussed his vision for the film, he dropped two films which he was committed to only to work on Kantara : Chapter 1. He also revealed that it took about 28 days to shoot the entire climax of the film.

Kantara sequel will be clashing with Karan Johar backed Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumar which features names like Varun Dhawan , Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, Rohit Saraf and Maniesh Paul. It would be interesting to see two diametrically opposites films will perform at the box office on the occasion of Dusshera.
