The Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy temple, Srisailam, was brightly illuminated as the seven-day Sankranti Brahmotsavams commenced here on Monday (January 12, 2026).
The annual festivities will be held till January 18 during which various special ‘abhishekams’ and ‘archana’ will be performed to Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy and Goddess Bhramaramba Devi.
According to Srisailam temple Executive Officer M. Srinivasa Rao, the festivities began at 9.15 a.m. on Monday with Yagasala Pravesam in the temple premises in which trust board members, chief priests, acharyas, vedic scholars and officials participated. This was followed by Shiva Sankalpa praying for timely rains, good health, long life, and overall well-being of the people.
Priests performed Ganapati Puja, Chandeeswara Puja, Kankana Dharana, and other rituals in the morning. Ankurarpana was performed in the evening after which the most significant ‘Dhwajarohanam’ was held symbolically inviting all the deities to witness the Brahmotsavams.
