The State Bank of India (SBI) has officially announced the results of the Clerk Preliminary Examination held on September 20, 21 and 27, 2025. The exam was conducted for the recruitment of Junior Associates (Customer Support and Sales), one of the most popular banking jobs among graduates in India.

Candidates who appeared for the prelims can now check their status on the Careers section of the SBI website, where a PDF file lists the roll numbers of qualified applicants. A total of 6,589 vacancies are available in this recruitment cycle, making the competition intense. Those who have made it to the shortlisted list must now focus on preparing for the Main Examination, which will play a decisive role in final selection.

What happens after SBI Clerk prelims?

Only the candidates who qualified in this first stage will now move ahead to the Main Examination. The bank has clarified that final selection will be based entirely on the marks obtained in the mains exam, along with qualification in the Language Proficiency Test (LPT).

The LPT ensures that selected candidates are fluent in the local language of the state they applied for, as clerical roles require frequent customer interaction.

This year, SBI is filling 6,589 Junior Associate positions in branches across India. With lakhs of candidates appearing for prelims, the cutoff is expected to remain competitive.
