Shahid Kapoor was recently spotted at the airport with his wife Mira Rajput, drawing attention as the actor gears up for his upcoming film 'O’Romeo'. The couple stepped out in a low-key manner, keeping things relaxed and minimal.
Buzz around O’Romeo continues to grow, especially after the film landed in legal controversy days after its teaser release.
A quiet airport appearance
In a video shared by paparazzi pages, Shahid Kapoor walked out first and paused briefly to wait for Mira Rajput before heading into the terminal. He opted for a breezy blue linen shirt paired with pyjama-style bottoms, perfect for travel comfort. Mira followed soon after in a light co-ord set that blended ease with subtle elegance.
What’s stirring controversy around ‘O’Romeo’
Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, 'O’Romeo' dropped its teaser last week and soon found itself in legal trouble. The film is reportedly inspired by a chapter from Hussain S Zaidi’s 2011 book Mafia Queens of Mumbai, which had earlier inspired Gangubai Kathiawadi. The chapter focuses on Hussain Ustra, Sapna Didi, and Dawood Ibrahim. Shahid Kapoor essays Hussain Ustra, while Triptii Dimri plays Sapna Didi and Nana Patekar portrays Dawood Ibrahim.
The story follows Sapna Didi’s quest for revenge after her husband Mehmood Kaliya’s police encounter.
Why a legal notice has been issued
Hussain Ustra’s daughter, Sanober Shaikh, has issued a legal notice to the makers, demanding Rs 2 crore for allegedly portraying her father without consent. Speaking to NDTV, she said, “We have only sent a notice. The reason is that in the teaser and videos, my father’s entire image has been shown. His look, his style—everything is being shown exactly like him.
That is why we sent the notice. But the filmmakers are denying it by saying that it is neither a biopic nor a documentary.
”She further added, “As more videos are coming out and more is being revealed about the film, it is clearly visible that everything resembles my father. As a family, and as a daughter, this is extremely disturbing for us. Because of this, problems are arising in our family.”
Release plans and cast details
'O’Romeo' remains scheduled for a theatrical release on February 14. Alongside Shahid Kapoor, the film also stars Triptii Dimri, Nana Patekar, Tamannaah Bhatia, Avinash Tiwary, and
Disha Patani
