Leaders of the Congress party and supporters of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah distributed food packets containing biryani and sweets to celebrate him becoming the longest-serving CM of the State, breaking the record of former Chief Minister Devaraj Urs.
Mr. Siddaramaiah’s supporters distributed food packets and sweets to the public at Ashoka Circle and McGann Hospital on January 6. According to the organisers, over 5,000 people received these.
District Congress Committee president R. Prasanna Kumar said Siddaramaiah created a record by becoming the longest-serving CM and presenting 16 budgets. During his rule, he has introduced many pro-people schemes, including the guarantee schemes of the present tenure.
Shivamogga DCC Bank member M. Srikanth said Siddaramaiah’s programmes had reached the larger masses. The guarantee schemes, launched during the current term, have benefited the needy without the role of mediators.
Congress leaders K. Ranganath, Kalagodu Rathnakar, G.D. Manjunath, H.P. Girish and others were present.
