SIPB clears 19 investment proposals worth over ₹28,546 crore in A.P.

Nineteen investment proposals worth about ₹28,546 crore with a potential to generate employment for 30,270 people were approved in the 7th State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at the Secretariat on Thursday. Mr. Naidu offered additional incentives to industries being set up in backward areas of the State in order to encourage them to play a catalytic role in their development, and to BPCL and Kalyani Strategic Systems Limited, LG Electronics, and Krishnapatnam Power Corporation. 

With the approvals given on June 19, the investments cleared in seven SIPB meetings held so far reached ₹5,34,684 crore, according to an official release.

Addressing the Thursday’s meeting, Mr. Naidu emphasised the need to give due priority to providing employment to locals in new industrial projects, and suggested that focus be laid on skill development to make the youth suitable for employment. 

Time frame

He mentioned that plans were drawn up to ensure that investments were evenly spread across all areas of the State, and insisted that the companies acquiring land must set up their units in the stipulated time frame. Further, the Chief Minister said MSME parks were being established in every Assembly constituency to provide opportunities to aspiring entrepreneurs under the “One Family – One Entrepreneur” initiative. He instructed the officials to upload details of the industries to an online portal and to do a cluster-wise mapping of these industries. 

The investments approved in the SIPB meeting are: Adani Hydro Energy Four Ltd. & Adani Hydro Energy One Ltd. — ₹10,900 crore (various districts), Ada ni Renewable Energy Fifty One Ltd. — ₹8,010 crore (Kadapa), Chinta Green Energy Pvt. Ltd. — ₹2,323 crore (Kadapa), Reliance Consumer Products Ltd. — ₹1,622 crore (Orvakal), Cognizant Technology Solutions India Pvt. Ltd. — ₹1,583 crore (in three phases in Visakhapatnam) and Raymond — ₹1,201 crore (various locations).

G. Infra Precisions Ltd. — ₹1,150 crore (Anantapur), Berry Alloys Ltd. — ₹573 crore (Sri Sathya Sai district), ABIS Proteins Pvt. Ltd. — ₹350 crore (Chittoor), Meglan Leisures & Entertainment LLP — ₹225 crore (Eluru), 3F Oil Palm Pvt. Ltd. — ₹224 crore (East Godavari), Green Park Hotels & Resorts Ltd. — ₹145 crore (Amaravati), Sangam Dairy Pvt. Ltd. — ₹130 crore (Tirupati), Pavani Hotels–Lemon Tree Premier — ₹80 crore (Tirupati) and Channel Play — ₹80 crore (Kopparthy).
