Snake rescued from Coimbatore collectorate

COIMBATORE: Fire and rescue department personnel rescued a rat snake from the social welfare department office on the Coimbatore district collectorate premises on Monday. A social welfare department staff member noticed a snake inside the office and alerted the fire and rescue services department over the phone. Fire and rescue personnel arrived at the scene, conducted searches and found the snake between two UPS batteries that were kept in the corner of the room.

They rescued the snake and released it into a forested area.
