Sony expands premium audio lineup with launch of BRAVIA Theatre Trio and other products for cinematic experience

Sony has announced a major expansion of its premium home audio portfolio with the launch of its new BRAVIA Theatre lineup in India. The new range aims to deliver an immersive, cinema-like experience directly into consumers’ homes.

At the centre of this launch is the flagship wireless home theatre system, the BRAVIA Theatre Trio, which is being released alongside multiple soundbars, subwoofers and rear speakers, including the BRAVIA Theatre Bar 7, Bar 5, Sub 9, Sub 8, Rear 9 and Rear 8.

Sony BRAVIA Theatre lineup price and availability

The new sony BRAVIA Theatre units will go on sale beginning July 1. The flagship BRAVIA Theatre Trio will be available across Sony retail stores (including Sony Centre and Sony Exclusive stores) as well as online via Amazon.

The BRAVIA Theatre Bar 7 and BRAVIA Theatre Bar 5 will simultaneously hit shelves on July 1 2026 across Sony retail outlets and leading Indian e-commerce platforms.

According to Sony executives, Indian consumers are increasingly prioritising high-quality, integrated audio-visual solutions that faithfully recreate a filmmaker's or creator's original intent. Sony’s new range introduces specialised audio components engineered for diverse home layouts and user preferences.

BRAVIA Theatre Trio: Specifically designed for ultra-large screen televisions, this flagship system features dedicated left, center and right speakers to build a wider soundstage than traditional soundbars. It supports Dolby Atmos and DTS, and can create up to 24 virtual “Phantom” speakers when paired with the Sub 9 and Rear 9 modules.BRAVIA Theatre Bar 7: A compact soundbar housing nine speaker units, including up-firing and side-firing speakers, alongside four passive radiators.

It supports IMAX Enhanced and Dolby Atmos, utilising Sony’s Sound Field Optimisation to deliver remarkable depth.BRAVIA Theatre Bar 5: A feature-rich 3.1-channel soundbar that comes with a wireless subwoofer in the package. It includes a dedicated center speaker for sharp dialogue and utilises Voice Zoom 3 technology when connected to compatible BRAVIA TVs to boost speech clarity.BRAVIA Theatre Sub 9 and Sub 8: The Sub 9 is a premium 600W wireless subwoofer built with vibration-cancelling dual opposing drivers to deliver ultra-low frequency response with clean, controlled bass.

The Sub 8 features a high-output 300W amplifier to offer room-filling, distortion-free low-end sound. Both can be managed via the BRAVIA Connect app.BRAVIA Theatre Rear 9 and Rear 8: The Rear 9 pairs a premium wireless design with large up-firing speakers and high-quality aluminum speaker units. Alongside the physical hardware, Sony introduced BRAVIA Direct Connect – a unique capability that allows compatible BRAVIA televisions to pair directly with BRAVIA Theatre subwoofers and rear speakers without requiring an intermediary soundbar.
