Sri Lanka likely to rope in Vikram Rathour as batting coach for T20 World Cup

MUMBAI: Sri Lanka are likely to rope in former India opener Vikram Rathour as batting coach lead up to the T20 World Cup. Rathour was India’s batting coach from 2022-24 and currently is the assistant coach of IPL team Rajasthan Royals. If things work out, Rathour may join the Sri Lankan side ahead of home three-match T20I series against Pakistan and the six-match white-ball series (three ODIs & T20Is) against England.

Rathour will be the second Indian coach to join the support staff of the Sri Lankan team. In Dec, Sri Lanka Cricket announced that former India fielding coach R Sridhar had been appointed as the men's team fielding coach until the conclusion of the T20 World Cup, which will be held in India and Sri Lanka from Feb 7 to March 8.Sridhar was India’s fielding coach from 2014 to 2021.Sridhar had conducted a 10-day camp for Sri Lankan cricketers at various levels in May last year.
