Chairman of the Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights Shashidhar Kosambe has advised students to study hard and face examinations with a confidence that can help them to reach their educational goals.

Interacting with students from various schools during a discussion held at the zilla panchayat auditorium here on Saturday, Mr. Kosambe said, “Students should come out from uncomfortable feelings and shy nature while studying and face any challenges that come during student life with confidence, which can make it way easier to achieve success.”

While receiving grievances from students about the lack of basic facilities in the schools and poor transportation, the chairman specifically directed the officials of the department concerned to take immediate action to extend facilities, including drinking water and toilets, whatever the students needed, on priority and create a good educational environment at schools.

Mr. Kosambe directed the Education Department’s senior officers to ensure that there is zero tolerance with regard to harassment of students by teachers, and warned of action if such incidents are reported. He sought a report within two weeks about the action to increase the police patrol in the areas where schools and bus stands are located.

Deputy Director of the Women and Child Development Department Tippanna Sirasagi, DDPI Channabasappa Mudhol, DHO Mahesh Biradar and others were present.
