The Vizianagaram district administration has estimated the urea requirement for the ongoing Rabi season at 17,461 metric tonnes. Of this, around 12,606 metric tonnes of fertilizer have already been stocked. To meet the remaining demand of 2,914 metric tonnes, the administration plans to mobilise supplies from the Andhra Pradesh State Co-operative Marketing Federation (MARKFED) and other organisations within the next couple of weeks.

MARKFED chairman Karrotu Bangarraju informed the district officials that there was no need to worry about fertilisers as the government would be able to meet requirements of all the districts including Vizianagaram district.

Meanwhile, Collector S. Ramsundar Reddy and Joint Collector Sedhu Madhavan urged farmers to use nano urea which would ensure more yield while protecting the soil health. He asked farmers to concentrate on commercial crops including mango, cashew, and others to generate more income.

He said that the government has made arrangements for the complete payment for farmers for paddy bought at various Rythu Seva Kendras. He asked all rice millers to cooperate with the government for completion of paddy procurement with regard to Kharif season.

Meanwhile, Parvatipuram Collector N. Prabhakar Reddy said that the district administration made arrangements for paddy procurement in all mandals of the district. He said that the crop was abundant with decent rainfall between June and October, 2025.
