The survivor in the 2017 Kerala actor rape case has lashed out at Martin Antony, the second accused and now a convict in the case, for posting a video on social media revealing her name. His video, which went viral, had led to comments in social media platforms targeting the survivor.

"The mistake I made was that when an attack was committed against me, I immediately complained to the police and went ahead demanding legal action. I should have remained silent accepting everything that happened that day as my fate. Later, when that video surfaces some day, I should have committed suicide without knowing what to say to those who accused me of not reporting this to the police," she wrote in a post on her social media page on Friday.

The Thrissur Cyber Police had on Thursday registered a case against Martin on the charge of posting a video revealing the name of the survivor. The video is believed to have been made when he was out on bail.

"The second accused, who was sentenced to 20 years in prison, made a video. He could have as well said in that video that he was the one who took the nude video. I can only say to those who make such perverse statements and to those who spread them that may neither them nor anyone in their family ever have to face such a situation," she wrote.

She ended the post with the statement, "Not a victim, not a survivor, just a simple human being! Let me live."
