Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday (May 27, 2025) has instructed all officials concerned to be vigilant and take the necessary measures to prevent any accident or damages due to incessant rains in Hyderabad and other districts.
The officials were asked to take appropriate precautions as per the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast of heavy rains. Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), Police, Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA), Traffic and Electricity departments should be available round-the-clock and work in coordination, he said.
Civic authorities were instructed to address waterlogging on roads, traffic jams and power outages on a war footing. Alternative measures should be taken to prevent low-lying areas from getting flooded and people from being inconvenienced.
He appealed to people to be alert, mainly in areas that are receiving heavy rains, and asked Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao to review the flood situation in districts as well as Hyderabad, regularly.
