Tamil Nadu CM Stalin condemns PM Narendra Modi for 'remarks against Tamils' during Bihar election campaign

Chennai: Chief Minister M K Stalin strongly condemned Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his remarks against Tamils during an election campaign in Bihar, urging him not to sow hatred between the people of Tamil Nadu and Bihar. Stalin shared a video clip of the Prime Minister’s campaign in Bihar, in which he was heard saying, “In Tamil Nadu,

persons are harassing hardworking people of Bihar.” He said that Narendra Modi often forgets he is the Prime Minister of the entire nation and speaks in a manner that diminishes the dignity of the office he holds.

“As a Tamilian, I ask you with pain not to lower the dignity of the office you hold,” he said, tagging the PM’s X handle. Stalin added that wherever they go, be it Odisha or Bihar, BJP functionaries display their animosity towards Tamils for electoral gain.

“As the Chief Minister of TN, I strongly condemn this,” he said, urging them to abandon “such cheap politics” of fuelling hostility between Hindus and Muslims and attempting to pit Tamils against the people of Bihar in a nation that thrives on plurality and unity in diversity. He added that the Prime Minister and his party colleagues should focus on the country’s welfare instead of indulging in petty politics.
