Tamil Nadu: Woman pours boiling oil on husband over job dispute

CUDDALORE: A 30-year-old woman was arrested on charges of pouring boiling oil on her husband, for not permitting her to go for work, at a village near Kattumannarkoil in Cuddaloren Wednesday.

The arrested person, K Divya Bharathi, was booked under three sections of BNS after her husband, C Kannan, 41, lodged a complaint with police.Police said the couple used to quarrel frequently as Kannan, running a borewell-digging unit, objected to his wife working in a nearby rice mill.

Kannan went to sleep after one such quarrel on Wednesday. His wife, who was boiling oil to prepare food, took the vessel to the room and poured the boiling oil on both his legs below the knees.CUDDALORE: Kannan screamed in pain, and his neighbours rushed him to Kattumannarkoil govt hospital for treatment. Kannan sustained 10-degree burn injuries on his legs. His condition was said to be stable.
