Telangana Director General of Police B. Shivadhar Reddy on Tuesday launched the ‘Call for Blood Foundation’, a digital platform aimed at enabling rapid and secure coordination between blood donors and patients in emergency situations.
The application has been designed to ensure immediate communication in emergency situations by identifying suitable donors when blood is required. Officials said the platform uses modern technology to streamline the blood donation process while maintaining strict confidentiality of donors’ personal information.
The application incorporates multiple safety and privacy features, including complete protection of donors’ personal details and an option to keep donor information hidden for a specific period after blood donation. It also includes a mechanism to quickly identify and connect donors during critical emergencies, ensuring timely availability of blood.
The initiative, developed under the aegis of the Call for Blood Foundation, aims to simplify the process of blood donation and reduce delays in accessing blood, which can be crucial in saving lives.
Speaking at the launch, the DGP congratulated the foundation and its founder, Chintala Sampath, for the initiative. Mr.Sampath said more information about the web application and the foundation’s activities is available on the official website (callforbloodfoundation.com).
