Malavika Mohanan, known for her South Indian hits and Hindi debut 'Beyond the Clouds', explains her selective approach to Bollywood. She prioritizes creative connection over industry status, stating she'll choose compelling scripts regardless of language. Her recent Hindi outing was 'Yudhra', and she's now starring in 'The Raja Saab' and upcoming 'Sardar 2'.

Actress Malavika Mohanan has been gaining fame for her recent releases in the South Indian cinema, including Mohanlal starrer ‘Hridayapoorvam’, ‘Master’ with Vijay, and her latest outing in ‘The Raja Saab’ opposite Prabhas. Additionally, she had also made her Hindi film debut in ‘Beyond the Clouds’, the actress shared why her Hindi filmography has been limited since her debut in 2017 and shared the kind of filmmakers and roles she truly wants to explore.

Talks about selective choices after ‘Beyond the Clouds’

During a conversation with India Today, Malavika Mohanan addressed the question regarding more outings in Hindi since ‘Beyond the Clouds’, to which she replied that her career choices have been driven by her creative instinct rather than the size or status of the industry. She said, “After ‘Beyond the Clouds’, I did receive a lot of Hindi film offers, but I’ve been very choosy. Even if there’s a big Hindi film, if I connect more with an interesting script from another industry, I’ll go with what feels right to me.

“I don’t see one industry as superior to another. I make my choices intuitively, and while I’d love to do more Hindi films, it has to excite me creatively,” she added.

Malavika Mohanan in ‘Yudhra’

In 2024, Malavika Mohanan did a Hindi action thriller, ‘Yudhra’ opposite Siddhant Chaturvedi and Raghav Juyal in key roles.Malavika Mohanan was recently seen in the Prabhas starrer horror comedy film, ‘The Raja Saab’ where she plays one of the female leads in the movie. The film also stars Nidhhi Agerwal, Riddhi Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Boman Irani, Zarina Wahab in key roles.On the upcoming work front, she is also set to be seen in the Tamil film ‘Sardar 2’ starring alongside Karthi.
