The broadcast comes amid sharply rising tensions between Iran, the US and Israel, with Washington warning of possible military action and Tehran signalling battle readiness.

Iranian state television aired a threatening message targeting US President Donald Trump, according to videos circulating online and shared by multiple journalists and open-source intelligence accounts.
The footage shows a banner displayed on Iranian state broadcaster Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting featuring an image of Trump from a recent assassination attempt, alongside a message that read: “This time, it won’t miss."
The clip was shared by several journalists and monitoring accounts on X, including Amichai Stein and Sana Ebrahimi. News18 could not independently verify the broadcast at the time of publication.

While Iranian state media has previously aired provocative messaging during periods of heightened tension, there was no official statement from Iran’s government or security establishment taking responsibility for any attack.
The assassination attempt referenced in the broadcast stems from the July 13, 2024, shooting at a campaign rally near Butler, Pennsylvania, when a gunman opened fire at then-presidential candidate Donald Trump from a nearby rooftop.
The attacker, later identified by the FBI as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, wounded Trump in the ear, killed one attendee and injured several others before being neutralised by Secret Service counter-snipers.
Authorities treated the incident as a lone gunman attack, and the alleged shooter was killed at the scene. The rally, held at the Butler Farm Show Grounds, became a high-profile moment in US political security discussions and has since been widely covered in US media.

The broadcast also comes against the backdrop of widespread unrest across Iran, where mass protests that began in late December 2025 have escalated into one of the largest anti-government movements in years. Rights groups say the death toll has surpassed 2,500 amid a sharp government crackdown, and Iranian officials have accused external forces of fomenting unrest even as they maintain communications with global actors.
In response to the crackdown, Donald Trump has threatened strong action, including tariffs and possible military options, and Tehran has warned regional states that US bases could be targeted if any attack unfolds. The tense standoff has led to precautionary troop movements at key bases and widespread international concern as the situation continues to evolve.
