Former Minister and Sarvepalli MLA Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy has announced that three-phase current will be made available across his constituency soon, with the change taken up under the prestigious RDSS (Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme) nearing completion.
Speaking after inaugurating a transformer repair shed at Podalakur on Sunday (October 26, 2025), he said that the transformation into three-phase would be completed in a couple of months. “The residents as well as the farmers will no longer suffer from the low voltage problem associated with the single-phase supply,” he observed.
Transformer shed
The shed built under the BOT system has an installed capacity to repair more than 100 transformers a month. Mr. Reddy recalled that the constituency used to bear the brunt in the past, as the transformers had to be taken all the way either to Nellore or Gudur for repairs.
“With Andhra Pradesh Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (APSPDCL) bringing this new facility to their reach, the citizens of Sarvepalli can breathe easy,” he said, adding that the shed would be useful to Kaluvoy, Manubolu, Rapur, Saidapuram and Podalakur mandals.
