The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange warning (thunderstorms) for six Telangana districts and a yellow warning for 20 districts for Wednesday (June 3,2026).
According to IMDs latest bulletin, an orange alert has been issued for Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial and Rajanna districts. Additionally, a yellow thunderstorm alert has been issued for Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanumakonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvangiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet and Jogulamba Gadwal districts.
Hyderabad city and its surrounding areas for the next 24 hours will see a partly cloudy sky. “Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied with gusty winds are very likely to occur in parts of the city towards evening or night. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 39℃ and 27℃ respectively,” the bulletin said.
Meanwhile, maximum temperatures across Telangana have continued to ease after weeks of intense heat that saw several districts record temperatures above 45℃ and 46℃. Data from the Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS) showed that the highest maximum temperature recorded in the State on June 1 was 43.8℃ at Kattangoor in Nalgonda district.
This was followed by 43.6℃ in Neredcherla (Suryapet), 43.4℃ in Hajipur (Mancherial), 43.4℃ in Kamanpur (Peddapalli), 43.3℃ in Khanapur (Nirmal), 43.2℃ in Korutla (Jagtial), Parvathagiri (Warangal) and 43.1℃ in Dharmasagar (Hanumakonda), Palwancha (Kamareddy) and Asifabad (Kumaram Bheem Asifabad).
In urban locations, Marredpally in Hyderabad recorded 41.6℃ followed by 40.8℃ in Uppal (Medchal Malkajgiri)
