 Revolutionizing Paediatric Respiratory Care at Jharkhand Pedicon 2025

Ranchi: Paediatric care experts have highlighted the growing importance of timely intervention, precision technology, and patient-specific treatment in managing respiratory illnesses among children.

These insights were discussed during during the 24th Jharkhand Pedicon 2025, organised by the Indian Academy of Paediatrics (IAP), which began on Friday. The three-day conference is hosting nearly 300 child health specialists from across county.The specialised workshops were organised at Rani Children Hospital and Research Center and the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (Rims). These workshops focused on invasive and non-invasive ventilation techniques. According to experts, invasive and non-invasive are crucial component of paediatric critical care alongside child nutrition, genetic disorders, kidney and heart diseases, liver and jaundice management, childhood obesity, skin conditions, respiratory illnesses, and developmental challenges. Dr Sai Sunil Kishor from Visakhapatnam said, “The use of non-invasive ventilation has significantly reduced the need for prolonged hospital stays in children. We are witnessing a shift towards non-invasive methods where possible. The goal is to stabilise the child without resorting to invasive procedures unless absolutely necessary." Director-cum-consultant at Balpan Children Hospital, Dr Rajesh Kumar said, “Continuous medical education is the backbone of paediatric advancement. The Pedicon platform allows us to discuss case studies, and align our practices with international standards.”
