The body of a tourist from Indore was recovered from a gorge in Meghalaya even as authorities continued their search for his wife a week after the couple went missing. The body of Raja Raghuvanshi, 29, was found around 20 km from the homestay where he was staying with his wife, Sonam.
The couple went missing on May 23, hours after they checked out of their homestay at Nongriat village, located in Meghalaya's East Khasi Hills district. A day later, the scooter they had rented was found abandoned near Sohrarim village, a popular tourist hub.
Police said a woman's shirt, medicines, a part of the LCD screen of a mobile and a smartwatch were found at the spot, PTI reported. A homicide case has been registered.
