Jamshedpur: Two men were arrested for killing common service centre (CSC) operator Tarapada Mahato at his kiosk under Galudih police station limits a day earlier, the police said on Wednesday.“Mahato was killed over a land dispute. The assailants were arrested, and firearm was also recovered from them,” Rishabha Garg, SP (Rural), said. Both the accused, Vikas Dubey alias Rahul (21) and Abhishek Kumar alias Happy (21), confessed to their crime and have been sent to jail. The duo arrested from MGM police station limits during a vehicle checking drive, Garg said. Vikas and Abhishek were hired to kill Tarapada, the SP said.Tarapada had an enmity with a person named Jitendra Dubey over a disputed land. Some months ago, Dubey was arrested and sent to jail based on an FIR lodged by Tarapada. “Initial investigation suggests that the family members of Dubey had plotted Tarapada’s murder,” Garg said. More arrests are likely as investigation into the case is underway, SP said.
