AGRA: The headless body of a 26-year-old taxi driver missing since Friday evening was found in a tubewell room in a field in UP's Firozabad district on Sunday morning.Police said Saurabh Singh, originally from Etah, lived with his wife, Preeti, their minor son, and his elder brother, Mithun, in Laxmi Nagar under Firozabad North police station.
His torso was found around 1km away from his in-laws' house in Jakhai village under Narkhi police station, while the severed head remains missing.The family told police that Saurabh had left the house around 5pm on Friday saying that a friend had called him and that he would return shortly. However, he never returned and his phone was found switched off. On Sunday, a body was found and his family identified it as his. The body was sent for postmortem while forensic teams collected evidence from the site.Firozabad ASP Ravi Shankar Prasad said, "A case has been registered under section 103 (1) (murder) of BNS based on a complaint filed by Saurabh's brother. According to the FIR, Saurabh's friend and brother-in-law have been named as suspects. We have taken the friend into custody and are interrogating him." He added that four teams have been formed to investigate the case.According to the family, Saurabh had no known enmity or disputes. Police are scanning Saurabh's call detail records to trace his final movements.
